UK details security support for Jordan and Lebanon as another maritime incident hits Red Sea region
A number of Middle East countries have benefited from further monetary assistance from the UK over the past financial year as part of the government’s Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF), including over £15 million ($19.4 million) in potential commitments from the MoD.
This includes Jordan and Lebanon, the former a key UK ally in the region and the latter seen as a strategic interest given Iran’s long-standing influence in the country through the group Hezbollah.
