UK Public Accounts Committee savages Crowsnest plans and F-35 costs
In a new report the UK’s Public Accounts Committee has delivered a damning assessment of the MoD’s Carrier Strike capabilities claiming that the Crowsnest AEW radar system has been subjected to ‘poor contractor performance and inadequate departmental oversight.’
The report, published on 13 November, also criticized the MoD for a lack of supply ships to support the carrier strike group and points to ‘a disturbing lack of clarity about the costs associated with purchasing and supporting’ F-35B Lightning II fighter jets.
