Finland requests ‘improved package’ from HX fighter competitors
The Finnish Defence Forces’ Logistics Command has issued a revised RfQ to HX Fighter Programme (HX-FP) competitors, specifically asking each for an ‘improved package’ from those offers already tabled.
Finland is committed to a budget ceiling of €10 billion ($11.2 billion) for the replacement of its F/A-18C/D Hornet jet fleet with this latest solicitation a follow on to a first round of negotiations with industry candidates.
A packed field for the acquisition includes Boeing’s F/A-18 Super Hornet, Dassault’s Rafale, the Eurofighter Typhoon – led by BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin’s F-35 and Saab’s Gripen.
