EDEX 2018: Egyptian MoD develops new decoys and anti-drone systems
The Egyptian MoD’s research and development (R&D) unit displayed various new decoys and C-UAS products at EDEX 2018 in Cairo.
Several inflatable decoys were showcased, comprising an Abrams M1 tank, M113 APC, Ural truck and F-16 (pictured).
An MoD spokesperson told Shephard, ‘the decoys emit the same radar cross section as the real aircraft, as well as thermal and TV signatures. We use them with three [modes] in case they are being targeted by a multi-spectral sensor.’
