EADS expects job losses and cost reductions
Criticising the lack of support from the German government, the head of EADS has warned that the restructure of the company’s defence business is likely to result in job losses.
‘We cannot avoid further cost and staff reductions,’ company CEO Thomas Enders said in an interview with the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung.
For years EADS has sought balance in its defence and commercial activities but this has never materialised due to a declining German market on which it heavily relies. The company claims to have lost substantial orders in the recent years.
