Aero India 2021: KRAS takes baby steps
Next month, Hyderabad-based JV Kalyani Rafael Advanced Systems (KRAS) will begin deliveries of more than 900 midsection electronics kits for the Barak 8 missile.
Shipment of the first 24 kits will be made under a $112 million order for Barak kits placed by Rafael in July 2019. The Barak 8 will be designated the Long-Range SAM (LRSAM) when it equips Indian Navy (IN) vessels.
Rudra Jadeja, CEO of KRAS, confirmed the schedule to Shephard, noting that this was the first contract awarded by an international OEM to a private Indian defence company to manufacture kits for such a complex
