Germany to send WS-61 Westland Sea King helicopters to Ukraine
Germany has committed to sending Ukraine six of its 21 retiring WS-61 Westland Sea King multirole, amphibious helicopters.
The complete supplier teaming arrangement for the Sikorsky-Boeing SB>1 Defiant Joint Multi-Role Technology Demonstrator (JMR-TD)has been announced at Quad A, Nashville.
During the show Doug Shidler director of JMR-TD at Sikorsky and Patrick Donnelly, programme manager for Future Vertical Lift at Boeing listed their suppliers for the programme across six categories of systems.
Under the airframe category the partners include: Triumph Group (landing crew); Swift Engineering (fuselage); PPG Aerospace (transparency); Martin-Baker (crew seats); East/West (cabin seats).
Avionics providers include: L-3 (cockpit displays); Raytheon (transponder); Garmin (VHF radio); Amrel (video switch); Northrop Grumman (inertial navigation unit); Esterline (cockpit panels); SCI (intercomms);
