NAVAIR launches Presidential helicopter replacement
US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has begun a fresh effort to find a new Presidential helicopter, with the release of a draft RfP to industry on 23 November.
The Presidential Helicopter Replacement Program (VXX) will procure a new fleet of aircraft to replace the aging VH-3Ds and VH-60Ns currently used to support the Presidential vertical lift mission.
NAVAIR is now seeking input from industry on a range of technical areas prior to the expected release of a formal RfP in mid-FY2013. The Presidential Helicopters Program Office (PMA-274) will hold an industry day on 10 December at Patuxent River, Maryland,
