Hensoldt, Airbus Helicopters sign agreement for AMPS
Hensoldt has signed a framework agreement with Airbus Helicopters for of its Airborne Missile Protection System (AMPS), the company announced on 15 March.
The agreement will have an initial term of ten years without any minimum purchase requirement being set. The first order has now been placed.
Under the agreement, Hensoldt will deliver a total of 20 complete AMPS systems for the H145M military multirole helicopter in 2019 and 2020.
Hensoldt offers the AMPS in two standard configurations for different applications, allowing customers to select the modules and the number of sensors required. The standard modules include Missile Launch Detection System (MILDS), MILDS Block 2, and advanced control and display unit.
Daniel Ehbauer, project manager at Hensoldt, said: ‘The present framework agreement allows us to supply our airborne self-protection system for all Airbus Helicopters platforms without having to prepare an offer in advance. This reduces the amount of administration between the former sister companies considerably and defines clear conditions for project processing.’
