Indonesia could purchase eight MV-22 Block C Osprey tiltrotor aircraft and related equipment in a $2 billion potential FMS deal, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced on 6 July.

Prime contractors will be Bell Helicopter Textron and Boeing.

‘It is vital to U.S. national interest to assist Indonesia in developing and maintaining a strong and effective self-defense capability,’ the DSCA noted. ‘The proposed sale of aircraft and support will enhance Indonesia’s humanitarian and disaster relief capabilities and support amphibious operations.’

Boeing and Bell Textron delivered the first modified Block C Osprey to the USMC in December 2019.
