UK MoD: GEOINT to play critical role in future ops
A senior British officer has predicted that UK forces will rely on the use of its GEOINT capability more than ever as they move away from Afghanistan and towards other operational theatres.
Gen Sir Richard Barrons, Cdr of Joint Forces Command, told the Defence Geospatial Intelligence conference in London that the UK military mission has revolved around counter-terrorism since 1989, but future theatres will be in different environments and personnel will face new threats.
