Cubic tailors mortar simulator for the US Army
The company’s mortar trainer received improvements based on soldier’s feedback.
Cohort company MASS has led a Joint Warfare Support Team (JWST) in support of the UK/Oman Saif Sareea 3 Exercise, Cohort announced on 30 November.
The event, which took place between September and November in Oman, saw 5,500 UK personnel working alongside their Omani counterparts across air, land and maritime environments.
MASS provided support to the exercise control team in four areas; real life support to UK forces, subject matter experts to provide operational level inputs at both military and diplomatic levels, staff support to the joint warfare exercise planning staff and observers to assist with the post-exercise review.
Chris Stanley, managing director, MASS, said: ‘MASS has been supplying large-scale training support for several years to a variety of military exercises in the UK and overseas, our JWST support for this exercise is a further example of the collaborative approach that exists between the UK and Oman.
'The team collaborated with their counterparts to establish a coherent approach to the exercise making sure the required training objectives were met.’

The company will operate in two new locations in the coming years to better support US services.
This type of tool provides more realistic training easing the incorporation of new scenarios that accurately represent the threats of the battlefield.
The Engineering Corps has been conducting individual instruction using FLAIM Systems’ Sweeper and should start collective deployments in 2025.
The next-generation platform is motion-compatible and can be used in OTW and NVG applications.
The system can be used to prepare soldiers for both drone offensive operations and CUAS missions.
