Germany to send WS-61 Westland Sea King helicopters to Ukraine
Germany has committed to sending Ukraine six of its 21 retiring WS-61 Westland Sea King multirole, amphibious helicopters.
CAE begins NZ Seasprite support
CAE has started the delivery of maintenance and support services for the New Zealand Defence Force’s (NZDF’s) SH-2G(I) helicopter synthetic training devices, the company announced on 17 November.
The NZDF acquired its recently recommissioned SH-2G(I) Full-Mission Flight Simulator (FMFS) as part of a package with ten SH-2G(I) helicopters. CAE installed the FMFS along with six SH-2G(I) part-task trainers at Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) Base Auckland over the past twelve months.
CAE New Zealand will now provide on-site maintenance and support services for the next 15 years with initial assistance from its subcontractor Beca Applied Technologies.
The company will also perform updates to the FMFS over the coming year, including updates to the host computer, sensor systems, tactical environment simulation software, and the instructor operator station; upgrades will use the latest-generation CAE Medallion-6000 image generator and Common Database (CDB) architecture.
