$6.4 billion ADAIR and CCAS contract
The USAF Air Combat Command has awarded seven companies combined contracts valued at $6.4 billion to support its Combat Air Forces Contracted Air Support (CAF CAS) programme. The contractors will provide Adversary Air (ADAIR) and Contracted Close Air Support (CCAS) services with a variety of different aircraft.
Although the contract is expected to be completed in October 2024 and calls for 30,000 annual ADAIR sorties and an additional 10,000 CAS sorties, in many ways the programme is just the tip of the iceberg.
