Opinion: UK’s ship scrapping dangerous for national security
The House of Commons Defence Committee (HCDC) report into the future of the country’s Amphibious Forces has been published, setting out a vision of doom and gloom for the UK armed forces with HMS Albion and Bulwark to be scrapped, and the Royal Marines (RM) further reduced in size. The report is a clear warning to the MoD that scrapping these ships and reducing the size of the RM would be extremely dangerous for UK national security.
