Vulcano ammunition proves big hit on range
The Vulcano guided ammunition, as produced by Diehl Defence and Oto Melara, has scored a direct hit on a target at 33km.
Diehl announced on 22 July that the testing took place on the Alkanptan firing range in South Africa ten days earlier. The test culminated in a round hitting a 2x2m target at a range of 33km fired from a PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzer.
The company said that firing took place over a week to demonstrate the ‘precision and terminal accuracy’ of the guided ammunition, which consists of 127 mm and 155 mm calibres with dual mode capability of
