USMC tests amphib contenders
The USMC is assessing industry bids for its Amphibious Combat Vehicle 1.1 (ACV1.1) programme.
Contrary to recent press reports there are five industry bidders not four and they are undergoing final source selection examination.
The five bidders under evaluation include: General Dynamics; BAE Systems; Lockheed Martin; Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC); and Advanced Defense Vehicle Systems (ADVS).
The USMC PEO for Land Systems (PEO LS) told Shephard that it anticipates contract awards will be made early in FY16 to two of the five contractors. Each one will produce 16 personnel vehicles for an Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD)
