US Army orders additional 155mm Bonus munitions
The US Army ordered an undisclosed number of additional 155mm Bonus munitions through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA).
The munitions will be delivered by BAE Systems and Nexter with initial batches set to be received in 2021.
Lena Gillström, managing director for BAE Systems Weapons Systems Sweden said: ‘This advanced technology facilities striking two targets with one munition to increase combat efficiency and lethality on the battlefield.’
The Bonus munition is designed for targeting armoured vehicles and will be used by the US Army’s M109 self-propelled howitzers and M777 ultra-lightweight towed howitzers.
Finland, France, Norway and Sweden are among the other states with Bonus in their inventories.
