Ukraine plans new T-64 tank variant
An upgraded T-64 tank will be brought into service in the Ukrainian Army, known at Tirex.
Kiev has announced that the Ukraine MoD is in talks with Areya, an engineering company which designed the vehicle about future supplies. This is part of an effort to modernise the Ukrainian military.
According to the government the tank could be introduced by the end of the year. This is because the tank concept is built on the existing Soviet-era T-64 tank, some of which are already being converted into infantry fighting vehicles called Azovets.
But there will be modifications such as
