Uganda's AMISOM contingent gets vehicle boost
The Ugandan contingent of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has been bolstered by the delivery of Bastion armoured personnel carriers (APC) manufactured by Mack Defense.
A spokesperson for Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa (CJTF-HoA) in Somalia confirmed to Shephard that 15 Bastion vehicles had been delivered, along with four cargo trucks.
In addition to the vehicles delivered on 25 September, two storage containers and an assortment of spare parts have also been delivered. According to AMISOM, a maintenance team has also been deployed to provide training in vehicle repair and servicing.
