TAM tank upgrade stalls
Following the unveiling of the TAM 2IP medium tank for Argentina in June, it is not clear if will be combined with the TAM 2C upgrade programme.
TAM 2IP appears to be just a regular TAM tank, based on Germany’s Marder infantry fighting vehicle, just with additional armour plates attached to the sides.
In September 2015 the Argentine Army and SIBAT signed an agreement for the TAM2C upgrade to go ahead, but since then there haven't been any announcements or follow up statements on the implementation of the deal.
