Taking stock: What’s next for Challenger 2 LEP?
In the wake of the final formation of Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL), with its intention to play a major role in the manufacture of the Boxer 8x8 for the British Army's Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV) programme, it remains to be seen how this development could affect the British Army's Challenger 2 Life Extension Programme (CR2 LEP).
In a 1 July statement, RBSL said that it intended to play a major role in manufacturing the Boxer 8x8 for the British Army’s MIV programme and 'other strategic combat vehicle programmes', while also providing support to the British Army’s in-service bridging
