Rheinmetall and BAE Systems JV approved
On 13 June, the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced its approval of the proposed military vehicle joint venture between Rheinmetall and BAE Systems.
It is understood that the joint venture, to be headquartered at BAE Systems’ facility in Telford, will handle military vehicle design, manufacturing and support. The companies also intend it to play a role in the delivery of the British Army’s new Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV) programme, and the upgrade of the Challenger 2 main battle tank fleet.
Rheinmetall and BAE System will make further announcements about the new joint venture in the coming weeks.
