New Taiwan vehicle mortar
Taiwan’s state-owned defence sector is developing a new mortar system for mounting on its armoured vehicles.
It will be an interchangeable 81mm and 120mm mortar system that will fit on the Cloud Leopard family of 8x8 armoured vehicles.
The Materiel Production Centre (MPC) displayed a prototype of the Advanced Mobile Mortar System installed within an armoured vehicle at the Taipei Aerospace & Defence Technology Exhibition (TADTE) held from 13-16 August.
The concept is to install either 81mm or 120mm barrels on the base of the Advanced Mobile Mortar System. It uses an electro-servo mechanism permitting an elevation range from 45°-85°, and
