SMD receives Tiger-M armoured cars
One of the Russian Southern Military District’s (SMD) special operation forces has received Tigr-M multipurpose 4x4 vehicles, equipped with the newest Arbalet-DM remotely-controlled combat module, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced on 20 June.
The Arbalet-DM module is designed for installation on wheeled and tracked armored vehicles, surface ships and stationary object guard stations.
Being fully stabilised, the module has the ability to capture and automatic track the target. It helps the operator to open fire both from stationary positions and in motion.
More than 50 pieces of new hardware such as the BTR-82A armoured personnel carrier, Ural-43206 and Rys have been supplied to SMD’s army of late, according to the MoD.
The SMD’s army has received more than 600 pieces of new and upgraded hardware since the beginning of the year.
