Slovenia weighs up Boxer mortar variant
Fresh from announcing its intention to purchase the Boxer 8x8 armoured vehicle, Slovenia has revealed an additional requirement for several 120mm mortar carrier variants of the German vehicle.
In February, the central European country announced that it would purchase enough Boxers to equip a Medium Infantry Battalion Group, with the Slovenian MoD subsequently putting this number at 48.
In response to questions from Shephard, the Slovenian MoD stated that the Medium Infantry Battalion Group will have an additional eight vehicles configured as mortar carriers to take the total vehicle number acquired to 56.
