Singapore selects M113 replacement
Singapore is set to replace its ageing US-built M113 armoured personnel carriers with a new tracked vehicle.
The Singaporean MoD has contracted domestic armaments manufacturer ST Kinetics to supply a next generation armoured fighting vehicle.
It means that the existing in-service Ultra M113 AFVs will be replaced from 2019 when the first of the new vehicles are due to be delivered.
The company unveiled its, so far nameless, next-generation AFV in June 2016. It was developed under a joint programme run by the Defence Science Technology Agency (DSTA) and ST Kinetics that began in 2006.
As of January 2017
