Russia looks to networked combat helmet
The Russian Ministry of Defence has announced plans to develop a networked helmet as part of its Ratnik combat gear programme.
The helmet will be equipped with an integrated signal system that will exchange soldier communications data for coordinated missions in real time.
The helmet is expected to be developed by 2025.
The Ratnik soldier system includes armour, combat outfit, small arms, sighting and reconnaissance systems. It has been fielded by Russian military ground forces, airborne troops and marines since 2016.
