Raytheon receives Patriot contract
Raytheon has received a $1.5 billion contract to provide additional Patriot Integrated Air and Missile Defense System capability for an undisclosed existing customer, the company announced on 9 January.
The contract is a direct commercial sale.
Patriot is an all-weather, long-range air defence system designed to detect, identify and counter cruise missiles, advanced aircraft and tactical ballistic missile threats. The system consists of radars, command-and-control technology and multiple types of interceptors.
Patriot is the foundation of integrated air and missile defence for 14 nations.
