It is believed that three companies did not make the downselect but a dark horse in Spain’s Iturri is believed to have got through.
UK invites proposals as it seeks new shotguns
The MoD will procure 240 guns in a five-year contract
The UK MoD on 19 October announced its intention to procure 240 shotguns for £2.5 million ($3.2 million), in a contract notice on the EU tender webpage.
The eventual five-year contract will include deliveries in three batches. As the quantities of arms to be acquired are subject to review, the exact split for the lots is unknown at this stage.
The first and the second batches will include short-range shotguns, and the third batch will see delivery of long- and short-range weapons.
