Thunder rolls through Estonia
Estonia is continuing to integrate K9 Thunder 155mm self-propelled howitzers (SPHs) into its armed forces.
Since receiving the first two 155mm K9s in late August, two years after placing the order with South Korean company Hanwha Defense, the howitzers have been subjected to technical modifications to bring them closer to the operational requirements of the Estonian Armed Forces. They also went through a series of trials and were used for training of crews and maintenance personnel.
Minister of Defence Jüri Luik on 11 October described the K9 procurement as ‘one of the most important’ for Estonia in recent years, as
