Estonia firms up €46m South Korean artillery order
Negotiations between Estonia and South Korea for the sale of self-propelled artillery systems have successfully concluded, paving the way for the small Baltic state to continue its defence forces’ mechanisation.
Estonia, which shares a border with Russia, is shoring up its defences amid geopolitical tensions in the region. As part of this, the Estonian Defence Forces is boosting its mechanised capability with the addition of tracked armoured vehicles and heavy artillery.
The K9 Thunder ‘will bring Estonia’s defense capacity to a new level and be one of the most considerable steps of building up armoured manoeuvring capacity,’ said Rauno Sirk,
