Spanish Army pursues integrated acquisition model
The Spanish Army plans to change its acquisition strategy to focus on procuring integrated systems.
During the 'III Army/Companies + Innovation Founding a Secure Future Forum' (Foro 2E + I in Spanish), held on 4-6 November at the Infantry Academy in Toledo, Gen Francisco Javier Varela Salas, Chief of the Army Staff, said the service will adopt a new model for systems, technology and equipment procurement.
He explained that the army will seek to acquire purchasing integrated systems in preference to isolated platforms. ‘This is the leap we want for the coming years,’ Varela noted.
