Hungarian Lynx production ramps up
Production of the first batch of new KF41 Lynx Infantry Fighting Vehicle for the Hungarian Defence Force (HDF) is due to begin in Q4 2021.
German armoured vehicle manufacturer Rheinmetall aims to ensure that delivery of the first 46 vehicles to the HDF occurs in 2022.
The company was selected in September 2020 to provide the HDF with 218 IFVs and nine Buffalo armoured recovery vehicles under a €2 billion ($2.37 billion) deal.
Future production of follow-on batches of 172 vehicles is expected to take place in Hungary through the establishment of a JV company.
