Griffon to pack a punch with MEPAC
The French Army has disclosed how it will deploy its recently ordered Thales (previously TDA) 120mm 2R2M rifled mortars in the Mortier Embarqué Pour l'Appui au Contact (MEPAC) system.
MEPAC will replace the 120mm MO-120-RT towed mortars currently deployed by French artillery regiments.
The new rifled mortars will be integrated into the rear of Griffon Véhicule Blindé Multi-Rôles (VBMR) 6x6 APCs in dedicated groups, with the command element consisting of two Griffon C2 vehicles and one Arquus (previously Panhard) Dagger Petit Vehicule Protégé (PVP) 4x4 light protected vehicle.
