The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is looking to get some specialist jungle training in Brazil, in a development that could make China’s southern neighbours a little edgy.
A deputy commander of the PLA, visited the Jungle Warfare Training Centre (CIGS) in Manaus, Brazil in late June, according to Col Alcimar Marques de Araújo Martins, the commandant of the CIGS.
This followed an earlier visit by an official Chinese delegation on 24 April lead by Adm Sun Jianguo, Vice Chief of the General Staff of the PLA, and 14 troops of the armed forces of China who were accompanied by Brazil’s deputy chief of the Ministry
