Philippines resumes hunt for 155mm howitzers
The Philippine Department of National Defense (DND) reissued a tender for a dozen 155mm towed howitzers on 20 February 2015.
This is the third time a tender for this requirement has been issued.
The tender, budgeted at $9.8 million, also calls for 240 rounds of high explosive ammunition and an integrated logistics support package.
The howitzers would be used by both the Philippine Army and Philippine Marine Corps.
Bidding will open in March, and the DND expects to take delivery of its 12 howitzers within one year of the letter of credit being issued.
