Paris Air Show: Le Bourget under air defence ‘bubble’ (video)

While most visitors at this year’s Paris Air Show were concerned with applying enough sun protection, the French Air Force had another more pressing concern; the potential for a terrorist attack coming from the air.

In an era when the incidence of terrorist attacks is at an unprecedented high, Shephard learnt that the French Air Force had set up a sophisticated air defence ‘bubble’ over Le Bourget that included surface-to-air missile launchers that were poised to shoot down potentially hostile aircraft or even missiles.

Although details are scarce due to operational security, French officials disclosed that the military had deployed
