New Zealand receives first Rheinmetall MAN vehicles
The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) has formally accepted the first 40 of 194 logistics vehicles ordered from Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles Australia in April 2013.
‘The new Rheinmetall MAN military medium and heavy vehicles are a significant step up in capability for the NZDF, replacing the old Unimog and Mercedes trucks,’ said Defense Minister Jonathan Coleman at an acceptance ceremony in Auckland.
‘They are designed for modern military operations and offer better mobility, better protection, enhanced technology, and greater capacity.’
