MSPO 2018: Poland’s Patriot Phase II talks underway
Poland opted for the Patriot air defence system from Raytheon in March 2018, since then the company has been in talks with the government for Phase II of the programme.
As part of this second phase the Eastern European nation is looking for an additional 16 patriot fire units which would fulfill eight Polish ‘batteries’.
Phase I will see Raytheon deliver four Patriot fire systems, two batteries, under what is known as the ‘Wisla’ programme.
Discussions on Phase II began almost immediately, in April 2018, after the Phase I agreement was signed, according to John Baird, VP for Poland IAMD
