More UK-built content possible for Scout
General Dynamics UK (GDUK) is updating its ‘on-shore proposal’ for the MoD that will include more UK-built content for the British Army’s new Scout SV armoured vehicle.
A spokesperson from GDUK told Shephard that once it submits its proposal, the MoD will evaluate whether to exercise this option.
The Scout SV will be built in Spain by General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) to a modified version of the company’s ASCOD vehicle design.
The UK MoD told Shephard that ‘GDUK’s preference’ has always been to use the established production facilities at GDELS in Seville, Spain, as the site for Final Assembly,
