Latvia receives first Austrian howitzers
Latvia has received its first examples of second-hand M109 self-propelled howitzers from Austria, as part of an agreement signed between the two countries in April.
The Latvian Armed Forces announced on 1 October that the initial units had arrived by container ship at the port of Liepaja, in the west of the country.
The new self-propelled howitzers are expected to take part in the country’s annual military parade on 18 November.
