Japan orders another Bushmaster quartet
The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) is awaiting delivery of four additional Thales Bushmaster 4x4 protected mobility vehicles later this year.
A Thales Australia spokesperson told Shephard, ‘Thales received an order in 2017 for an additional four Bushmasters for the JGSDF, increasing their fleet to eight vehicles.’
The sale became public knowledge during a visit to Japan by Australia’s prime minister Malcom Turnbull last week. During a meeting with prime minister Shinzo Abe on 18 January, the two countries pledged to expand their degree of defence, science and technology cooperation.
