Indonesia’s Badak opens fires
The Badak (‘Rhino’) 6x6 armoured fighting vehicle from Pindad, first revealed at Indo Defence in November 2014, is undergoing certification by Indonesia’s military authorities.
The Badak, based on Pindad’s Anoa 2 APC hull, successfully performed test firing with its 90mm main armament at the Infantry Training Centre in West Java from 10-12 December. A spokesman said, ‘The Badak is very satisfying.’
After zeroing the main gun with ten rounds, it fired five rounds with the turret pointing directly forwards at targets 1km away. The gun was then fired with the turret reversed, and this was repeated with the turret
