Indonesia inducts BTR-4M… but looking elsewhere
Spets Techno Export announced that the Indonesian Marine Corps has officially started using an initial batch of five Ukrainian-built BTR-4M 8x8 APCs that were delivered last year.
However, despite Pavlo Barbul, director at Spets Techno Export, saying that the APCs successfully passed trials in Indonesia, satisfaction with the new acquisitions has not been universal within the Indonesian marines.
Indeed, Shephard understands that the Indonesian Marine Corps is preparing a formal letter of request to withdraw from future procurements of the BTR-4M (a Ukrainian example of which is pictured above). This letter will be delivered to the Indonesian MoD, a procedure
