Glock scoops enormous Philippine contract
Glock Asia Pacific announced that it has won a contract to supply 74,861 Glock 17 Gen4 9mm pistols plus an identical number of holsters to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
The Philippine Department of National Defense issued a notice of award to Glock on 25 September after the company fought off international competitors for the large service pistol contract.
The contract is valued at PHP1,231,463,450 ($24.3 million) and the first batch of 35,000 weapons must be delivered within 180 days, subject to granting of an export licence. The second batch will be handed over within a further 90
