Funding questions remain for US Army's Next Gen Combat Vehicle
US Army leaders are crafting a Next Generation Combat Vehicle (NGCV) funding strategy and questioning when to curtail investments in their current fleet of combat vehicles.
Testifying 18 April before the House Armed Services subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces, two army leaders were on hand to lay out service plans for ground force modernisation.
LTG John Murray, deputy chief of staff G-8, said the service is grappling with the 'fundamental dilemma' of how to 'balance' between investing in NGCV and continuing to fund upgrades to legacy vehicles such as M1 Abrams tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles
