French MoD announces digital innovations for the army
France is increasing its efforts to simplify and optimise infantry operations by improving the routine use of network technology.
In early February, the French Ministry of the Armed Forces announced that four digital innovations will be added into the French Army: a multi-constellation GNSS receiver, a fully secured tablet and two indigenously developed software applications for use by SIMMT (the maintenance management authority within the army).
The Plug and Play Positioning and Timing System (P3TS) is a low-cost GNSS receiver. It is integrated into the Scorpion programme for French combined-arms tactical troops and makes it possible to geolocate allied vehicles,
