FIDAE: FAMAE offers new rocket artillery
The Chilean defence manufacturing and logistics organisation FAMAE is displaying a new multiple launch rocket system at FIDAE 2014.
Developed in conjunction with Israeli defence company IMI, the SLM platform consists of a MAN 6x6 truck with a rocket launcher. FAMAE hopes that the vehicle will replace the existing Light Artillery Rocket 160mm (LAR-160) that has been in-service with the Chilean Army for 20 years.
The new truck is on display fitted with IMI’s EXTRA (Extended Range Artillery Rocket) 306mm rocket system and also the ACCURATE LAR 160mm rocket.
