Eurosatory: Griffon in the flesh

The Griffon 6x6 vehicle is one of the major component parts of the French MoD’s Scorpion armoured vehicle programme and a mock-up was on display at Eurosatory.

Although it is without an engine and is not a proper prototype, it is a life-size metallic version of the vehicle that will be built by Nexter, Thales and Renault Trucks Defence.

First deliveries of the Griffon to the French Army are expected in 2018 with over 1,700 Griffons expected overall.

The manufacturing of the mock-up has allowed the companies to complete testing of some of the metal components for the vehicle as
